One connection away

570 airports are reachable from AMD with exactly one change, on top of the 48 nonstop. The ten below are the ones with the most frequency on the weaker of the two sectors, which is the leg that decides whether a same day connection holds. Computed from the scheduled network, not from a booking engine.

Alternate airports within reach

Airports within 400 km that also carry scheduled traffic. When a departure from AMD is cancelled or nothing suitable leaves that night, these are the options a desk looks at before it accepts a lost day.

  • Vadodara BDQ103 km by great circle, 4 scheduled destinations
  • Udaipur UDR214 km by great circle, 5 scheduled destinations
  • Surat STV219 km by great circle, 11 scheduled destinations
  • Indore IDR327 km by great circle, 14 scheduled destinations

How deep the AMD board really is

The table above says where a courier can fly from AMD. This reads the same 44 destinations back for the questions a dispatcher asks second: how much of the board rests on one airline, how much of it runs less than daily, whether the return leg is as thick as the outbound, what the clock here does to a Gulf working day and which of the destinations shut at night, all of it computed on 2026-09-07 from AeroDataBox scheduled route statistics.

  • 32of the 44 destinations are flown by one airline
  • 14destinations run less than once a day
  • 5destinations have four or more departures a day
  • 72.7%of the destinations name IndiGo, the largest presence here

Who holds the departures at AMD

21 airlines appear on the AMD board and they do not hold it evenly. IndiGo is on 32 of the 44 destinations, 72.7 per cent of them, and on 21 of those it is the only airline flying the sector. The destinations it appears on carry 85.2 of the 95.4 departures a day this airport files, though other airlines fly some of the same sectors, so read that as reach rather than as a share of the aircraft.

The next largest presence is Starlight Airline on 5 destinations. 16 of the 21 airlines at AMD appear on a single destination each, which is the long tail every airport carries, and none of it is a rebooking option when the sector you need is the one that fell over.

An airport held this tightly is quick to book and slow to recover: with 32 of the 44 destinations on one airline, the second aircraft on an AMD sector is usually another IndiGo aircraft, and when there is not one the desk is looking at another airport rather than another airline. That is why the alternate airports listed above matter more at AMD than the destination count does.

How much of the AMD board is daily

Of the 44 destinations, 30 are flown at least once a day and 14 are not, though none of them drops to once a week or less. The median destination on the AMD board is flown about once a day.

An average of 0.29 flights a day is the schedule statistic, and it is worth translating it before anything is promised to anybody: AMD to Bangkok (DMK) is 2 a week, so a missed departure there is not a delay of hours, it is the next slot.

The five busiest destinations carry 43.5 of the 95.4 departures a day, 45.6 per cent of the whole board. The other 39 destinations are spread widely enough that a courier who misses the first departure at AMD usually has somewhere else to look on the same board.

The ten destinations out of AMD where one airline holds the sector and files fewer than seven departures a week, with the weekly figure taken as the average daily rate multiplied by seven rather than as a fixed timetable. 3 further destinations sit in the same position and are listed in the board above.

The way back from AMD

The desk holds the return direction for 36 of the 44 destinations, and a courier plans the way back on those figures rather than on the outbound. On one of them the return into AMD runs thinner than the outbound by more than a quarter. The widest gap is Kuwait City (KWI) at 1.4 out a day against 0.29 back.

It runs the other way as well: Mumbai (BOM) files 14 a day back into AMD against 7.8 outbound, which is the shape that strands a courier at this end rather than at the far end.

The clock at AMD

AMD keeps Asia/Kolkata time, one and a half hours ahead of Dubai all year.

When it is 09:00 on a Dubai working morning it is 10:30 at AMD, so a nine to six day at each end overlaps for seven and a half hours. That is wide enough to settle a customs question at AMD and still make a departure the same day.

The night at AMD

1 of the destinations from here carry a documented night restriction of their own, which is a departure time question at this end rather than an arrival problem at the other.

Into London (LGW) the door shuts at 23:30 local, so the last departure from AMD that lands inside it leaves around 19:15, on a modelled block of 8h 45m. Those one departure times out of AMD are worked backwards from the published window with the block time model this site uses everywhere, 720 to 880 km an hour by sector length with thirty minutes on the ground, so they are arithmetic rather than a timetable and the desk checks the published departure before it promises the landing.

Where AMD turns up on the rest of this site

The airport also sits behind the India country desk, which sets out the customs practice, the working week and the road legs behind this airport.

The site publishes 13 airport pair pages that start or end at AMD, each with the distance, the block time, the carriers on the sector and a door to door clock. The busiest are Ahmedabad to New Delhi (DEL), Ahmedabad to Mumbai (BOM) and Ahmedabad to Bangalore (BLR).

Two courier postings name AMD as the airport a courier here flies from: Ahmedabad and Vadodara.

To price a movement rather than read the board, the route calculator opens with AMD already set as the origin, and it works out the flying time, the distance and the delivery hour for any of the 44 destinations above.

Where this came from

  • Destination network, airlines and frequencies: AeroDataBox scheduled route statistics, retrieved 2026-09-07.
  • Airport names and coordinates: the OnBoard Courier airport reference list.
  • Distances: great circle, computed from those coordinates. They are not flown distances and will read short against a real routing.
  • Industrial sites: public company information. Nothing on this page states or implies that any company named is a customer of any courier operator.

Who publishes this. OnBoard Courier is a placement desk in Dubai. An assignment through AMD is carried out by a vetted partner operator, with the desk as the single point of contact from the quote to the signature. We keep the Atlas because our own desk needs it when there are twenty minutes to find a routing, and we publish it because a reference only one operator can read is not a reference. Free to read, quote and cite, including by competing operators. Found an error? Tell us and we will correct the entry.

If you need something moved rather than looked up, the desk prices a hand carry in fifteen minutes. If you fly often and want to carry, we are recruiting couriers.
