One connection away
705 airports are reachable from CCU with exactly one change, on top of the 53 nonstop. The ten below are the ones with the most frequency on the weaker of the two sectors, which is the leg that decides whether a same day connection holds. Computed from the scheduled network, not from a booking engine.
| Destination | Country | Best connection | Flights a day on the weaker leg | Routing |

Alternate airports within reach
Airports within 400 km that also carry scheduled traffic. When a departure from CCU is cancelled or nothing suitable leaves that night, these are the options a desk looks at before it accepts a lost day.
- Dhaka DAC239 km by great circle, 49 scheduled destinations
- Ranchi IXR329 km by great circle, 11 scheduled destinations
- Chittagong CGP348 km by great circle, 8 scheduled destinations
How deep the CCU board really is
The table above says where a courier can fly from CCU. This reads the same 51 destinations back for the questions a dispatcher asks second: how much of the board rests on one airline, how much of it runs less than daily, whether the return leg is as thick as the outbound and what the clock here does to a Gulf working day, all of it computed on 2026-09-07 from AeroDataBox scheduled route statistics.
- 35of the 51 destinations are flown by one airline
- 10destinations run less than once a day
- 9destinations have four or more departures a day
- 76.5%of the destinations name IndiGo, the largest presence here
Who holds the departures at CCU
24 airlines appear on the CCU board and they do not hold it evenly. IndiGo is on 39 of the 51 destinations, 76.5 per cent of them, and on 28 of those it is the only airline flying the sector. The destinations it appears on carry 128.5 of the 142.9 departures a day this airport files, though other airlines fly some of the same sectors, so read that as reach rather than as a share of the aircraft.
The next largest presence is Air India Express on 6 destinations. 18 of the 24 airlines at CCU appear on a single destination each, which is the long tail every airport carries, and none of it is a rebooking option when the sector you need is the one that fell over.
An airport held this tightly is quick to book and slow to recover: with 39 of the 51 destinations on one airline, the second aircraft on a CCU sector is usually another IndiGo aircraft, and when there is not one the desk is looking at another airport rather than another airline. That is why the alternate airports listed above matter more at CCU than the destination count does.
How much of the CCU board is daily
Of the 51 destinations, 41 are flown at least once a day and 10 are not, though none of them drops to once a week or less. The median destination on the CCU board is flown about once a day.
An average of 0.29 flights a day is the schedule statistic, and it is worth translating it before anything is promised to anybody: CCU to Vancouver (YVR) is 2 a week, so a missed departure there is not a delay of hours, it is the next slot.
The five busiest destinations carry 59.2 of the 142.9 departures a day, 41.4 per cent of the whole board. The other 46 destinations are spread widely enough that a courier who misses the first departure at CCU usually has somewhere else to look on the same board.
| Destination | Country | The only airline on it | Flights a week | km | Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vancouver YVR | Canada | Air India | 2 | 11,433 | plan this |
| Ghaziabad HDO | India | IndiGo | 3 | 1,297 | plan this |
| Lilabari IXI | India | Alliance Air | 3 | 768 | plan this |
| Dehradun DED | India | IndiGo | 4 | 1,321 | plan this |
| Phuket HKT | Thailand | IndiGo | 4 | 1,930 | plan this |
| Yangon RGN | Myanmar | Myanmar Airways International | 4 | 1,027 | plan this |
| Gorakhpur GOP | India | IndiGo | 5 | 679 | plan this |
| Higleig HGI | South Sudan | IndiGo | 5 | 6,078 | plan this |
| Jharsuguda JRG | India | IndiGo | 5 | 460 | plan this |
| Visakhapatnam VTZ | India | IndiGo | 5 | 732 | plan this |
The ten destinations out of CCU where one airline holds the sector and files fewer than seven departures a week, with the weekly figure taken as the average daily rate multiplied by seven rather than as a fixed timetable.
The way back from CCU
The desk holds the return direction for 32 of the 51 destinations, and a courier plans the way back on those figures rather than on the outbound. On none of those 32 does the return run more than a quarter thinner than the outbound, so a turnaround through CCU is a question of hours rather than of whether an aircraft exists.
The clock at CCU
CCU keeps Asia/Kolkata time, one and a half hours ahead of Dubai all year.
When it is 09:00 on a Dubai working morning it is 10:30 at CCU, so a nine to six day at each end overlaps for seven and a half hours. That is wide enough to settle a customs question at CCU and still make a departure the same day.
Where CCU turns up on the rest of this site
The airport also sits behind the India country desk, which sets out the customs practice, the working week and the road legs behind this airport.
The site publishes 9 airport pair pages that start or end at CCU, each with the distance, the block time, the carriers on the sector and a door to door clock. The busiest are Kolkata to New Delhi (DEL), Kolkata to Bangalore (BLR) and Kolkata to Chennai (MAA).
One courier posting names CCU as the airport a courier here flies from: Kolkata.
To price a movement rather than read the board, the route calculator opens with CCU already set as the origin, and it works out the flying time, the distance and the delivery hour for any of the 51 destinations above.
Where this came from
- Destination network, airlines and frequencies: AeroDataBox scheduled route statistics, retrieved 2026-09-07.
- Airport names and coordinates: the OnBoard Courier airport reference list.
- Distances: great circle, computed from those coordinates. They are not flown distances and will read short against a real routing.
- Industrial sites: public company information. Nothing on this page states or implies that any company named is a customer of any courier operator.
Who publishes this. OnBoard Courier is a placement desk in Dubai. An assignment through CCU is carried out by a vetted partner operator, with the desk as the single point of contact from the quote to the signature. We keep the Atlas because our own desk needs it when there are twenty minutes to find a routing, and we publish it because a reference only one operator can read is not a reference. Free to read, quote and cite, including by competing operators. Found an error? Tell us and we will correct the entry.
If you need something moved rather than looked up, the desk prices a hand carry in fifteen minutes. If you fly often and want to carry, we are recruiting couriers.
