One connection away
710 airports are reachable from KTM with exactly one change, on top of the 37 nonstop. The ten below are the ones with the most frequency on the weaker of the two sectors, which is the leg that decides whether a same day connection holds. Computed from the scheduled network, not from a booking engine.

Alternate airports within reach
Airports within 400 km that also carry scheduled traffic. When a departure from KTM is cancelled or nothing suitable leaves that night, these are the options a desk looks at before it accepts a lost day.
How deep the KTM board really is
The table above says where a courier can fly from KTM. This reads the same 35 destinations back for the questions a dispatcher asks second: how much of the board rests on one airline, how much of it runs less than daily, whether the return leg is as thick as the outbound, what the clock here does to a Gulf working day and which of the destinations shut at night, all of it computed on 2026-09-07 from AeroDataBox scheduled route statistics.
- 21of the 35 destinations are flown by one airline
- 13destinations run less than once a day
- 9destinations have four or more departures a day
- 40%of the destinations name Nepal Airlines, the largest presence here
Who holds the departures at KTM
26 airlines appear on the KTM board and they do not hold it evenly. Nepal Airlines is on 14 of the 35 destinations, 40 per cent of them, and on 6 of those it is the only airline flying the sector. The destinations it appears on carry 34.3 of the 100.6 departures a day this airport files, though other airlines fly some of the same sectors, so read that as reach rather than as a share of the aircraft.
The next largest presence is Shree Airlines on 6 destinations. 22 of the 26 airlines at KTM appear on a single destination each, which is the long tail every airport carries, and none of it is a rebooking option when the sector you need is the one that fell over.
That is a middling concentration at KTM: one airline on 40 per cent of the destinations and the other 60 per cent spread across 25 airlines. A cancellation inside the Nepal Airlines network is often survivable inside the same booking, but on the 21 destinations Nepal Airlines does not touch, a rebooking means moving to a carrier the desk has to check for a through fare first.
How much of the KTM board is daily
Of the 35 destinations, 22 are flown at least once a day and 13 are not, though none of them drops to once a week or less. The median destination on the KTM board is flown about once a day.
An average of 0.29 flights a day is the schedule statistic, and it is worth translating it before anything is promised to anybody: KTM to Taplejung (TPJ) is 2 a week, so a missed departure there is not a delay of hours, it is the next slot.
The five busiest destinations carry 47.4 of the 100.6 departures a day, 47.1 per cent of the whole board. The other 30 destinations are spread widely enough that a courier who misses the first departure at KTM usually has somewhere else to look on the same board.
| Destination | Country | The only airline on it | Flights a week | km | Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bhojpur BHP | Nepal | Nepal Airlines | 2 | 178 | plan this |
| Dang DNP | Nepal | Nepal Airlines | 2 | 305 | plan this |
| Phaplu PPL | Nepal | Nepal Airlines | 2 | 122 | plan this |
| Seoul ICN | South Korea | Korean Air | 2 | 3,966 | the pair page |
| Shenzhen SZX | China | Himalaya Airlines | 2 | 2,911 | the pair page |
| Taplejung TPJ | Nepal | Nepal Airlines | 2 | 234 | plan this |
| Bangalore BLR | India | Nepal Airlines | 3 | 1,797 | the pair page |
| Colombo CMB | Sri Lanka | SriLankan Airlines | 4 | 2,353 | plan this |

| Tokyo NRT | Japan | Nepal Airlines | 4 | 5,213 | the pair page |
The ten destinations out of KTM where one airline holds the sector and files fewer than seven departures a week, with the weekly figure taken as the average daily rate multiplied by seven rather than as a fixed timetable. 2 further destinations sit in the same position and are listed in the board above.
The way back from KTM
The desk holds the return direction for 20 of the 35 destinations, and a courier plans the way back on those figures rather than on the outbound. On none of those 20 does the return run more than a quarter thinner than the outbound, so a turnaround through KTM is a question of hours rather than of whether an aircraft exists.
The clock at KTM
KTM keeps Asia/Kathmandu time, one and three quarters hours ahead of Dubai all year.
When it is 09:00 on a Dubai working morning it is 10:45 at KTM, so a nine to six day at each end overlaps for seven and a quarter hours. That is wide enough to settle a customs question at KTM and still make a departure the same day.
The night at KTM
1 of the destinations from here carry a documented night restriction of their own, which is a departure time question at this end rather than an arrival problem at the other.
Into Tokyo (NRT) the door shuts at 23:00 local, so the last departure from KTM that lands inside it leaves around 12:58, on a modelled block of 6h 47m. Those one departure times out of KTM are worked backwards from the published window with the block time model this site uses everywhere, 720 to 880 km an hour by sector length with thirty minutes on the ground, so they are arithmetic rather than a timetable and the desk checks the published departure before it promises the landing.
Where KTM turns up on the rest of this site
The airport also sits behind the Nepal country desk, which sets out the customs practice, the working week and the road legs behind this airport.
The site publishes 18 airport pair pages that start or end at KTM, each with the distance, the block time, the carriers on the sector and a door to door clock. The busiest are Kathmandu to New Delhi (DEL), Kathmandu to Dubai (DXB) and Kathmandu to Doha (DOH).
One of the 346 published hand carry lanes runs through this airport: Sharjah to Kathmandu. A lane page is the commercial version of the board above, with the customs, the ground legs and the price at KTM written out.
Two courier postings name KTM as the airport a courier here flies from: Kathmandu and Bharatpur.
To price a movement rather than read the board, the route calculator opens with KTM already set as the origin, and it works out the flying time, the distance and the delivery hour for any of the 35 destinations above.
Where this came from
- Destination network, airlines and frequencies: AeroDataBox scheduled route statistics, retrieved 2026-09-07.
- Airport names and coordinates: the OnBoard Courier airport reference list.
- Distances: great circle, computed from those coordinates. They are not flown distances and will read short against a real routing.
- Industrial sites: public company information. Nothing on this page states or implies that any company named is a customer of any courier operator.
Who publishes this. OnBoard Courier is a placement desk in Dubai. An assignment through KTM is carried out by a vetted partner operator, with the desk as the single point of contact from the quote to the signature. We keep the Atlas because our own desk needs it when there are twenty minutes to find a routing, and we publish it because a reference only one operator can read is not a reference. Free to read, quote and cite, including by competing operators. Found an error? Tell us and we will correct the entry.
If you need something moved rather than looked up, the desk prices a hand carry in fifteen minutes. If you fly often and want to carry, we are recruiting couriers.
