Penang and Kulim between them form one of the largest semiconductor test-and-assembly clusters outside East Asia, and a substantial part of the equipment in it is European. A handler part, a probe card, a socket or a spare for a down tool is the archetypal consignment on this lane, small, urgent, and holding up a line whose hourly cost nobody wants to write down.
The second strand is medical devices and rubber goods, where Malaysia is a genuine global supplier and where European regulatory requirements drive a constant flow of registration samples, test material and certification originals in both directions.
The third is oil, gas and offshore. Certified spares and class documentation for platforms and vessels off both coasts move on the same logic as an AOG part: the asset is either working or it is not, and the difference is measured in money per hour.
