The OnBoard Courier for Russia

Every page this site publishes for Russia, gathered in one place, with the scheduled network behind it stated rather than implied. English, for every country.

OnBoard Courier is a United Arab Emirates company, contracted by ICSL FZE and run from Dubai. A country named on this site is a country we cover and route through, not a separate company in that country. Assignments are contracted under UAE law, and the terms are published in full under legal and policies.

Where Russia connects

Gateways, reach and how concentrated the traffic is, from the scheduled network file.

The scheduled network file behind this site holds departure data for 10 airports in Russia. The largest is Moscow Sheremetyevo (SVO), the airport at Moscow, with 130 scheduled destinations in 31 countries flown by 35 airlines and about 490.7 departures a day. That single airport carries 32 per cent of everything scheduled to leave the country, which is the first thing a desk needs to know: there is somewhere else to go when it goes wrong.

01

After it come Saint-Petersburg (LED) with 112 destinations and about 245.3 departures a day, Moscow (VKO) with 77 destinations and about 181.4 departures a day, Novosibirsk (OVB) with 79 destinations and about 135.1 departures a day, Ekaterinburg (SVX) with 75 destinations and about 111.1 departures a day and Moscow (DME) with 65 destinations and about 105.9 departures a day. Those are the alternates. When the primary gateway is shut by weather, a strike or a curfew, they are what a courier is rebooked through. Between them the 10 airports in Russia that publish departures schedule about 1,526.5 movements a day and reach 747 separate destinations, counting each city once per airport.

02

Reach matters more than frequency for a hand carry, because a courier flies whatever is leaving. From SVO alone, 852 airports are reachable with exactly one change, on top of the 130 served nonstop. That is a normal spread for a well connected gateway, and it means a routing exists for most requests without waiting for a specific weekly service. It is computed from the scheduled network rather than from a booking engine.

What the network actually reaches

The destination profile of this country's own airports, counted from the same file.

The busiest routes out of Russia run to Saint-Petersburg (LED), about 84.3 flights a day, Antalya (AYT), about 81.9 flights a day, Moscow (SVO), about 70.6 flights a day, Kaliningrad (KGD), about 55.9 flights a day and Ekaterinburg (SVX), about 45.9 flights a day. That is the order a desk reads them in, by frequency rather than by distance, because a courier needs a seat today and not the shortest sector.

01

70 per cent of everything scheduled to leave the country stays inside it, across 104 domestic destinations. That matters on a hand carry because it decides whether the last leg can be flown or has to be driven. A consignee outside the gateway city is then a connecting flight, not a four hour drive.

02

Outside its own borders the country is tied most closely to Türkiye, about 146.7 flights a day, Uzbekistan, about 43.3 flights a day, China, about 40.7 flights a day, Egypt, about 32.2 flights a day and Armenia, about 26.9 flights a day. Those are the markets a courier can reach from Russia without a long connection, and they are also where a third country leg most often starts: an item that has to go from Russia to somewhere with no direct service usually travels through one of them.

03

78 airlines fly out of Russia in this data. Counted by how many of the country's routes each one appears on, the widest networks belong to Aeroflot on 142 routes, S7 Airlines on 138 routes, Pobeda on 106 routes, Rossiya Airlines on 104 routes and Ural Airlines on 76 routes. The carrier matters to a hand carry more than it does to freight, because cabin baggage rules, what counts as an acceptable carry on item and whether an extra seat can be bought are set by the airline and not by the airport.

04

The longest single sector out of SVO in this data runs to Cartago, Colombia (CRC), 10,983 km by great circle. Great circle is not a flown distance and will read short against a real routing, but it is the honest way to state a reach: it says what one aircraft does without stopping, which is exactly the question a courier desk is asking.

Three departure boards, one desk: Emirates, flydubai and Etihad for The for Russia

A hand-carry is only as fast as the next departure. The desk watches three boards at once and books the one that lands first, then holds the one that leaves next.

Emirates

The night bank out of Terminal 3

Between one and four in the morning Emirates pushes back a wave of widebodies from Terminal 3 that reach Europe before the first meeting and Asia by the afternoon. For The for Russia that wave is the reason a courier confirmed at eight in the evening is still delivering the next day.

Widebody only, non-stop to 140 plus cities
flydubai

The short sectors, several times a day

From Terminal 2 flydubai runs the one to five hour sectors: the Caucasus, Central Asia, East Africa, the Balkans, the subcontinent. Where a widebody leaves once a day, flydubai often leaves three times, which turns a missed slot into a ninety minute delay rather than a lost day.

Frequency is the fallback
Etihad

Abu Dhabi as the second runway

Ninety minutes down the E11, Etihad leaves from Zayed International with its own bank of departures and, for the United States, immigration cleared before boarding. When the Dubai departure for The for Russia is gone, the desk looks at Abu Dhabi before it looks at tomorrow.

US preclearance at AUH

The desk holds no allegiance to a carrier. The booking goes to whichever board puts a courier at The for Russia first, at a fare the quote can carry.

The for Russia: every hour it waits is an hour it is not moving.

Five questions, one fixed price, a named flight. The desk answers within 15 minutes, day and night, and you decide.

Getting there from the Emirates

What leaves a UAE airport for this country, how often, and on whom.

01

From the Emirates, Russia is reached nonstop. The network file records 14 such pairs, of which 13 run often enough to plan around: Dubai to Moscow (VKO), about 6.1 a day on flydubai, Dubai to Moscow (DME), about 3.4 a day on Emirates, Dubai to Moscow (SVO), about 2.3 a day on Aeroflot, Dubai to Ekaterinburg (SVX), about 2.1 a day on flydubai and Dubai to Saint-Petersburg (LED), about 2 a day on Emirates and flydubai. More than one nonstop pair means more than one chance to travel on the day the consignment is ready, which is worth more on this kind of work than any single fast flight.

02

The carriers on those sectors are flydubai, Emirates and Aeroflot. With this few, the desk knows all of their cabin rules by heart, which is the difference between quoting in fifteen minutes and quoting after a phone call.

The clock and the curfew

Time difference and night restrictions, the two things that move a delivery by a day.

Russia runs 1h behind Dubai. That is why the departure chosen matters more than the flight time: the same sector can land inside the consignee's working day or an hour after it closed, depending on which bank the courier makes. An offset this small is forgiving: almost any morning departure still arrives inside the working day at the other end, and the desk plans around the airport rather than around the clock.

Entry, documents and the border

What the site holds on formalities for this market.

The entry and formalities guide for Russia on this site goes through it properly: what the declaration has to say, which documents travel with the courier rather than behind them, and where a temporary import is the right instrument instead of a permanent one. A hand carry is not exempt from any of that. It only removes the queue, the depot and the handover to a stranger.

Everything this site holds for Russia

The index proper, and what each part of it answers.

01

Counting what is already published, this site holds 2 city pages, 2 standalone city pages, 10 Atlas entries and 2 airport pages for Russia, and every one of them is linked from this page. That is the point of a country index: the material exists, it was written one page at a time, and until now there was no single place that connected it.

02

Alongside the reference material there is the country desk page, the entry and formalities guide and the courier recruitment page for people who already fly this market. The coverage here is thin, and saying so is more useful than padding it. What exists is accurate; what is missing is missing because nothing on this desk has been written about it yet.

Cities in Russia

Each city page carries the industries, the nearest gateway and the customs reality of that place, not of the country in general.

City desks and Dubai lanes

The standalone city pages, and the page for that city paired with Dubai. They are written for the search a shipper actually types, which is a city and a destination rather than a country.

The markets next door

Countries the scheduled network ties this one to most closely, ordered by how much traffic runs between them. A third country leg usually starts in one of these.

The rest of Russia on this site

Trade sectors, history, formalities and the recruitment page, each written for this market rather than for the service in general.

Where this came from

Every figure on this page is traceable to a file, and the file is named. Nothing here is estimated.

  • Gateways, destinations, airlines and frequencies: AeroDataBox scheduled route statistics, held on 2026-09-07.
  • Everything linked above: pages already published on this site. A link is only written where the page exists.

Who publishes this. OnBoard Courier is a placement desk in Dubai. An assignment into Russia is carried out by a vetted partner operator, with the desk as the single point of contact from the quote to the signature. If you need something moved rather than looked up, the desk prices a hand carry in fifteen minutes. If you fly this market often and want to carry, we are recruiting couriers. Three ways the desk can move The for Russia

Same courier, same cabin, different amount of ground work. The desk recommends one of these in the quote and prices the other two if you ask.

The lean one

Airport to airport

  • A courier meets your driver airside at the departure airport
  • The consignment stays in the cabin for the whole flight
  • Your consignee, or their broker, collects at the arrival airport
  • Cleared in person, questions answered at the counter

Best when both ends have people who can reach an airport.

What most clients book

Door to door

  • Collection at your address, sealed and photographed
  • One named courier from that door to the signature
  • Customs cleared in person on arrival, duties handled as agreed
  • Proof of delivery with signature, identity check and photograph

The full chain, one price, one person answerable for it.

Charter and relay

  • A second courier takes over where a visa or a duty limit stops the first
  • A private aircraft where the last airline departure has gone
  • Ground relay across a border when flying is the slower option
  • Priced case by case, in writing, before anything moves

For deadlines that a scheduled seat cannot reach.
