Kuwait is an upstream and refining lane, and the consignment profile is narrow and consistent: downhole tools and electronics, valve and seal kits, control and safety system cards, analysers and inspection equipment. The customer is either an operator or a service company, the deadline is either a rig day rate or a turnaround window, and the part is small enough to carry.
Because the industry is concentrated, so is the American origin. Houston, and to a lesser extent Oklahoma and Louisiana, is where most of what moves on this lane starts. Starting the courier there rather than routing the part through a coastal hub first is the whole point of the exercise.
The administrative friction is real and worth planning for. Entry requires a visa in advance for most business travel, refinery and field access requires site permissions that are arranged before arrival, and Kuwaiti customs are specific about documentation. None of this is unusual for the region; all of it takes longer than the flight if it is left late.
