This is the lane where pre-production hardware lives. American companies design products that are built in the Pearl River and Yangtze deltas, and the traffic between them is not finished goods, it is the things that decide whether finished goods can be built: first articles, tooling inserts, test jigs, golden samples, approved colour and material standards, and engineering change parts. Each of them is holding up a build with a date attached.
The second strand is repair and qualification in the other direction: failed units going back for analysis, qualification samples coming to American laboratories, and the specialist components American plants cannot source quickly elsewhere. This is a lane that runs hard in both directions, and the inbound leg is frequently the more urgent one.
Two things need care here more than elsewhere. Entry requires a visa arranged in advance for most business travel, and the arrangements have changed more than once, so the courier is selected on who actually holds valid permission. And the American export control position, classification, licence conditions, end-user and end-use restrictions, is settled before anything moves. On this lane that is not a formality, and where the answer is that a licence is required and does not exist, nothing travels.
