Where you can fly from SPX

One connection away
586 airports are reachable from SPX with exactly one change, on top of the 14 nonstop. The ten below are the ones with the most frequency on the weaker of the two sectors, which is the leg that decides whether a same day connection holds. Computed from the scheduled network, not from a booking engine.

Alternate airports within reach
Airports within 400 km that also carry scheduled traffic. When a departure from SPX is cancelled or nothing suitable leaves that night, these are the options a desk looks at before it accepts a lost day.
- Cairo CAI50 km by great circle, 105 scheduled destinations
- Alexandria HBE145 km by great circle, 14 scheduled destinations
- El Alamein DBB250 km by great circle, 11 scheduled destinations
How deep the SPX board really is
The table above says where a courier can fly from SPX. This reads the same 14 destinations back for the questions a dispatcher asks second: how much of the board rests on one airline, how much of it runs less than daily, whether the return leg is as thick as the outbound, what the clock here does to a Gulf working day and which of the destinations shut at night, all of it computed on 2026-09-07 from AeroDataBox scheduled route statistics.
- 10of the 14 destinations are flown by one airline
- 8destinations run less than once a day
- 0destinations have four or more departures a day
- 21.4%of the destinations name flynas, the largest presence here
Who holds the departures at SPX
Twelve airlines appear on the SPX board and they do not hold it evenly. flynas is on 3 of the 14 destinations, 21.4 per cent of them, and on 1 of those it is the only airline flying the sector. The destinations it appears on carry 3 of the 11.9 departures a day this airport files, though other airlines fly some of the same sectors, so read that as reach rather than as a share of the aircraft.
The next largest presence is easyJet on 3 destinations. 8 of the 12 airlines at SPX appear on a single destination each, which is the long tail every airport carries, and none of it is a rebooking option when the sector you need is the one that fell over.
No airline holds more than 21.4 per cent of the destinations here, which is the more comfortable shape of the two. A cancellation at a spread airport is usually a rebooking rather than a lost day, provided the sector itself carries more than one operator, and 10 of the 14 sectors at SPX do not.
How much of the SPX board is daily
Of the 14 destinations, 6 are flown at least once a day and 8 are not, 1 of them running once a week or less. The median destination on the SPX board is flown 5 times a week.
An average of 0.14 flights a day is the schedule statistic, and it is worth translating it before anything is promised to anybody: SPX to Sofia (SOF) is about one a week, so a missed departure there is not a delay of hours, it is the next slot.
The five busiest destinations carry 7.2 of the 11.9 departures a day, 60.2 per cent of the whole board. More than half of everything that leaves SPX is aimed at those five places, so the depth on the board above is thinner than the destination count suggests, and a hand carry that is not going to one of them is planned around a single departure time.
| Destination | Country | The only airline on it | Flights a week | km | Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sofia SOF | Bulgaria | Bulgaria Air | 1 | 1,550 | plan this |
| İzmir ADB | Turkiye | Pegasus | 2 | 972 | plan this |
| Paris CDG | France | easyJet | 2 | 3,179 | plan this |
| Rome FCO | Italy | Wizz Air Malta | 2 | 2,115 | plan this |
| Milan MXP | Italy | easyJet | 4 | 2,585 | plan this |
| Muscat MCT | Oman | SalamAir | 5 | 2,805 | plan this |
The six destinations out of SPX where one airline holds the sector and files fewer than seven departures a week, with the weekly figure taken as the average daily rate multiplied by seven rather than as a fixed timetable.
The way back from SPX
The desk holds the return direction for 14 of the 14 destinations, and a courier plans the way back on those figures rather than on the outbound. On none of those 14 does the return run more than a quarter thinner than the outbound, so a turnaround through SPX is a question of hours rather than of whether an aircraft exists.
It runs the other way as well: Medina (MED) files 0.86 a day back into SPX against 0.59 outbound, which is the shape that strands a courier at this end rather than at the far end.
The clock at SPX
SPX keeps Africa/Cairo time, an hour behind Dubai in summer and two hours behind in winter, because the clock here moves and the Gulf clock does not.
When it is 09:00 on a Dubai working morning it is 08:00 at SPX, so a nine to six day at each end overlaps for eight hours. That is wide enough to settle a customs question at SPX and still make a departure the same day.
The night at SPX
1 of the destinations from here carry a documented night restriction of their own, which is a departure time question at this end rather than an arrival problem at the other.
Into Paris (CDG) the door shuts at 00:00 local, so the last departure from SPX that lands inside it leaves around 20:40, on a modelled block of 4h 20m. Those one departure times out of SPX are worked backwards from the published window with the block time model this site uses everywhere, 720 to 880 km an hour by sector length with thirty minutes on the ground, so they are arithmetic rather than a timetable and the desk checks the published departure before it promises the landing.
Where SPX turns up on the rest of this site
The airport also sits behind the Egypt country desk, which sets out the customs practice, the working week and the road legs behind this airport.
Four courier postings name SPX as the airport a courier here flies from: Cairo, Alexandria and Suez.
To price a movement rather than read the board, the route calculator opens with SPX already set as the origin, and it works out the flying time, the distance and the delivery hour for any of the 14 destinations above.
Where this came from
- Destination network, airlines and frequencies: AeroDataBox scheduled route statistics, retrieved 2026-09-07.
- Airport names and coordinates: the OnBoard Courier airport reference list.
- Distances: great circle, computed from those coordinates. They are not flown distances and will read short against a real routing.
- Industrial sites: public company information. Nothing on this page states or implies that any company named is a customer of any courier operator.
Who publishes this. OnBoard Courier is a placement desk in Dubai. An assignment through SPX is carried out by a vetted partner operator, with the desk as the single point of contact from the quote to the signature. We keep the Atlas because our own desk needs it when there are twenty minutes to find a routing, and we publish it because a reference only one operator can read is not a reference. Free to read, quote and cite, including by competing operators. Found an error? Tell us and we will correct the entry.
If you need something moved rather than looked up, the desk prices a hand carry in fifteen minutes. If you fly often and want to carry, we are recruiting couriers.
