Automotive runs on build schedules fixed months in advance, and everything downstream of a missed sign-off moves with it. The parts that travel by hand are rarely expensive in themselves; what is expensive is the shift, the trial build or the approval that stops without them.
01Confidentiality is a real requirement rather than a preference. Pre-series parts and design prototypes are commercially sensitive, and a movement in one named person's custody with a numbered seal is a materially different proposition from a parcel passing through four handling points.
