Forest-industry machinery is exported globally and installed in places where the nearest spare is a very long way away. That produces the classic hand-carry consignment: a drive, a sensor, a controller or a specialist wear part, small enough to carry and expensive enough in downtime terms that nobody argues about the freight.
The routing runs through Helsinki-Vantaa and then the Gulf, which suits the destinations, South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa, far better than a European hub would.
