Yard, quay and shutter collections, any hour

On board courier Hamriyah Free Zone & Port, collected by hand, flown in the cabin.

Hamriyah runs on steel, hydrocarbons and vessels that do not wait. When a fabrication sequence stalls or a ship needs a certified part before she sails, a courier with a cabin seat moves faster than any freight booking. We collect at your plot, your quayside office or your agent's counter and hand the consignment over against signature at the far door.

Why urgent freight starts in Hamriyah Free Zone & Port

Hamriyah is the heavy end of Sharjah. The zone was built around a working port and it shows: oilfield-services yards with pipe racks and pressure equipment, structural steel and vessel fabricators, marine and offshore support companies, petrochemical blenders and liquid-bulk operators, and food processors taking bulk in over the quay. Deadlines here are expensive in a way office deadlines are not. A rig on a waiting-on-parts clock burns money by the hour. A vessel that misses her window pays for the next berth. A weld procedure that cannot proceed without a witnessed certificate holds a whole fabrication schedule and the labour standing beside it. Sea freight is measured in weeks and air freight in handling steps, both of which assume time you no longer have. A hand-carry assumes only that someone can be at the gate with the item packed.

Where we collect in Hamriyah Free Zone & Port

Three kinds of collection happen here. Inside the fence, a pre-advised gate pass governs everything. On the port side, the handover is at an office rather than a berth. Outside, in the old town and along the approach roads, the courier simply drives to the address you give.

The Hamriyah Free Zone gate and visitor registrationNames, identification and vehicle details are lodged before arrival; an unlisted courier waits outside the barrier, which is the commonest cause of a slow pickup in this zone.
Hamriyah Port and the inner harbour quaysBerth access is controlled and seldom necessary, the practical handover is at the agent's office or an agreed point inside the gate, with crew or agent bringing the item ashore.
The oilfield-services yardsOpen plots with long internal approaches and heavy vehicle movements; a gate name plus a contact on site works far better than a plot number alone.
The structural steel and vessel fabrication plotsHandovers at the plot office rather than the shop floor; hot work areas need escorting, so staging the item at the office saves both parties a walk.
The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority headquartersCounter collections and registered-office pickups, with the courier logged in at the entrance in the ordinary visitor manner.
The pre-built warehouse complexShutter collection at the unit door; the numbering runs in long rows, so the block reference matters as much as the unit.
The liquid-bulk terminal and tank farm areaA restricted area with its own safety induction; documents and samples leaving here are normally brought out to a gatehouse rather than collected at a tank.
The Phase 2 plots on the inland sideNewer ground with roads that are still filling in; allow extra minutes between the security post and the far rows, especially at shift change.
The ship-repair and marine services quayCollections timed around the yard's own movements; a call on approach is worth more than an address when a vessel is being moved.
The food-processing and packing unitsHygiene-controlled areas where the courier stays at the dispatch office; ask the shipper to bring the consignment out already sealed.
Al Hamriyah town and its cornicheOrdinary streets outside the fence, useful as a neutral meeting point when a gate pass cannot be arranged at short notice.
The Emirates Road (E611) exit for the zoneWhere the run to either airport starts; the road is fast outside peak and heavy with trucks in the early morning.

Buildings and venues are named as collection points only, there is no affiliation with, or endorsement by, any property or operator listed. Not on the list? The desk collects anywhere in Sharjah; give the address when you request the quote.

From Hamriyah Free Zone Port to the runway: Emirates, flydubai and Etihad

A collection here is timed backwards from a departure board. Three of them matter.

EmiratesSHJ 20-30 min · DXB 45-70 min

Terminal 3, the night bank

Between one and four in the morning Emirates pushes back a wave of widebodies from Terminal 3 that reach Europe before the first meeting and Asia by the afternoon. For Hamriyah Free Zone Port that wave is the reason a courier confirmed at eight in the evening is still delivering the next day.

flydubaiDXB Terminal 2

Short sectors, several a day

From Terminal 2 flydubai runs the one to five hour sectors: the Caucasus, Central Asia, East Africa, the Balkans, the subcontinent. Where a widebody leaves once a day, flydubai often leaves three times, which turns a missed slot into a ninety minute delay rather than a lost day.

EtihadAUH, about 90 min by road

Abu Dhabi as the second runway

Ninety minutes down the E11, Etihad leaves from Zayed International with its own bank of departures and, for the United States, immigration cleared before boarding. When the Dubai departure for Hamriyah Free Zone Port is gone, the desk looks at Abu Dhabi before it looks at tomorrow.

The desk holds no allegiance to a carrier. The booking goes to whichever board puts a courier on the aircraft first, at a fare the quote can carry.

What typically moves out of Hamriyah Free Zone & Port

Certified fasteners, gaskets and valve internals for a vessel due to sail
Weld procedure records, NDT reports and witnessed certificates on a schedule
Instrumentation, transmitters and control cards for a fixed shutdown window
Sealed cargo and fuel samples for laboratory analysis or buyer inspection
Original bills of lading and charter documents against a payment cut-off
Rotating equipment spares and seals for a plant restart already booked

The last mile, told properly

Hamriyah is further from a runway than most UAE free zones, and pretending otherwise helps nobody. Sharjah International is twenty to thirty minutes away down the Emirates Road corridor when the trucks are not queuing, and it is the natural choice for regional destinations and for anything that has to be airborne quickly. Dubai International is forty-five minutes at night and can reach seventy in the morning peak, but it carries far more long-haul departures, so for a destination beyond the Gulf it very often produces an earlier arrival despite the longer drive. Inside the zone, the variables are the gate and the size of the plots: an escorted run to a far yard adds fifteen minutes at each end. Heavy vehicle traffic builds on the approach roads around six in the morning and again in the late afternoon, so a collection booked either side of those windows clears the fence noticeably faster.

Book a courier out of Hamriyah Free Zone & Port

When a yard is on standby or a ship is holding for one item, the cost of waiting dwarfs the cost of a seat. Give us the destination, the deadline and the packed size and weight, and a firm quote is with you inside fifteen minutes at any hour, because the desk is staffed overnight and at weekends. We work the gate-pass details through your zone contact, put one vetted courier on the consignment from your plot to the consignee, and keep it in the cabin the whole way, no consolidation, no transit warehouse, no local agent. Customs formalities are handled at both ends under your own documentation, and delivery closes with a signature and a timestamp.

Questions about collections in Hamriyah Free Zone & Port

01Our item is on board a vessel at the quay. Can you collect it?

Not from the deck. Berths are controlled and a courier will not be walking a gangway. In practice the crew or your agent brings the item ashore to an agreed point, which is usually quicker anyway. Send us the agent's name and a contact who will be present, and we plan the collection around the vessel's movements.

02How long does a gate pass take to arrange?

It is not our step to take, so we cannot promise a number. Your zone company lodges the courier's name, identification and vehicle with the security post, and in most offices that is a short administrative task. Please start it when you confirm the job rather than when the courier is already on the approach road.

03Would flying from Sharjah be quicker than driving to Dubai?

Sometimes, and it depends entirely on the destination. Sharjah is the closer runway and works well for regional routes. For long-haul, Dubai usually offers more departures and better onward connections, which frequently beats the shorter drive on arrival time. We check both against your deadline and quote the earlier arrival.

Three ways the desk can move Hamriyah Free Zone Port

Same courier, same cabin, different amount of ground work. The desk recommends one of these in the quote and prices the other two if you ask.

The lean one

Airport to airport

  • A courier meets your driver airside at the departure airport
  • The consignment stays in the cabin for the whole flight
  • Your consignee, or their broker, collects at the arrival airport
  • Cleared in person, questions answered at the counter

Best when both ends have people who can reach an airport.

For deadlines that a scheduled seat cannot reach.
