The document customs actually reads. It needs a plain description of the goods, the real value, the currency, the terms of sale and the full names and addresses of both parties. “Samples, no commercial value” is not a customs value and it is the fastest way to turn a twenty-minute clearance at Lomé (LFW) into an afternoon.

The things that can change it afterwards are the things you control: a change of destination, a change of goods, or a delay at your end that costs the booked flight.
